About

My main expertise lies in creative sector research, monitoring and evaluation, administration, facilitation and curriculum development, and I am a certified Leadership and Performance Coach through The Leadership Academy South Africa. I also have experience in arts and culture project and event management, programme development, financial administration, grant management, governance programmes, fundraising, marketing, market research, strategic planning, database management and copy writing and editing.

I have worked in management positions at Business and Arts South Africa NPC and in the South African creative non-profit Flying House Design which I co-founded.

My academic background spans both studies and work: I hold a Masters Degree in Arts and Culture Management and a BA in Dramatic Arts from Wits University; I was a National Research Foundation Scholar and Intern; I am a Golden Key International Honour Society member; I tutored and lectured in arts management at the Wits School of Arts (WSOA) and still serve as a guest lecturer and external examiner for the WSOA Centre for Cultural Policy and Management periodically; and I have consulted in a research, administration and curriculum development capacity for University of Johannesburg Arts and Culture.

My arts background comprises theatre (musical theatre, performance, set/costume design, stage management, crewing), music (singing – solo and ensemble, piano, theory), and craft and jewellery making. I am an Associate of the Trinity College of London in musical theatre and I was a performing member of the Wits Choir, where I also served on the Executive Committee and as Head of Sopranos.

I’m passionate about life-long learning and sustainable development, particularly in the creative sector but also in broader society, through growing and sharing knowledge and opportunities, encouraging collaboration, and leadership development. To achieve this, in addition to my work, I have prioritised the development of my own impact and influence through personal and leadership growth as an alumnus of the Common Purpose Africa Venture leadership programme, Wildflower Transformation Coaching’s Wildflower in Bloom personal growth course, and multiple Leadership Academy South Africa courses over the years.
