Rebecca Sibiya

I am an Intrapreneur, Coach, Speaker, Realist and Transformer who is passionate about personal and leadership development in my country and beyond. I have more than 20 years’ experience in the private and public sector, the majority of my career time being in the education sector. I have served as a Trustee on the National Research Foundation (NRF) Pension Fund Board of Trustees and a participating member of the NRF’s Bid Award Committee (BAC) for three years, respectively.

Having worked in the education, human rights, banking and science sectors, I have treasured learning as well as implementing innovative systems and processes. I have become more intentional about personal development and leadership, which has empowered me to be relevant and responsive when making crucial decisions.

I currently serve as the past president of the Scientia Toastmasters International Club. I have served as the president of this club in 2017/18 financial year, during that time that we obtained five recognition awards. I coordinate the Toastmaster Youth leadership Programme for the Hatfield Christian School, and I also participate in several speechcraft/youth leadership courses at high schools, where participants “learn by doing”.

I have been participating as a speaker at the annual Children’s Ministry Conference in South Africa (CMCSA) for more than three years. I facilitate and emcee at personal development and leadership workshops/events as this is something that I enjoy and it helps me to grow. I have been serving as a Director: in the Children for God Ministry (C4G) at the Hatfield Christian Church where we equip and inspire leadership in the leaders of tomorrow on a weekly basis.

My educational background includes a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management and Management Development Programme from University of South Africa and University of Stellenbosch Business School, respectively. My undergraduate degree in Psychology and Information Science was completed through the University of Pretoria. I have added my education spectrum by completing a Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Certificate in Practical Bookkeeping and Accounting through the Damelin Correspondence College. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Accounting Sciences in Financial Accounting with University of South Africa.
